As a Market Risk Analyst, you will be a critical part of the Reporting and Engineering (R&E) Asia reporting for the Traded Credit Business, covering Flow Credit, Structured Credit and Securitised Products. IT also covers Basel III CVA Risk Reporting (which leverages off existing R&E Productsion Processes). YOu will rely on in-house systems like Value at Risk(VaR) calculation engines (eg. MARS, SRE). Historical Simulation is the model employed. Where the principals of VaR may be intuitive the ways to get there vary in complexity and continually represent a challenge. What you'll do as a Market Risk Analyst
  • Through your experience and expertise, we'll depend on you to undertake the following:
  • Perform daily Time Series (TS), VaR, Regulatory reporting and Positions Validation processes for both Market Risk and CVA
  • Investigate Production issues, ensuring that concerns raised are efficiently communicated and resolutions are planned and effectively coordinated and actioned.
  • Maintain the specific Risk Model(SRE), ensuring Specific Risk is accurate, complete and meets regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and implement new and existing business initiatives and investigate potential issues surrounding the daily time series, VaR and positions within the Credit Asset class.
  • To deliver cost efficient research and development when priorities are changes and limited information is available
  • To complement and enhance the working patterns of the Reporting and engineering team with focus on the development and consolidation of current methodologies developed within market risk
  • To undertake daily Time Series BAU and project work and to assist in the development of new and existing methodologies in the creation of historical time series.
  • Constructing or using existing statistical and/or time series models for synthetically creating data
  • Production and validation of daily VaR for the Global Credit Business and CVA. Project work to develop /enhance new/existing initiatives
  • Maintaining VaR and non-VaR limits on trading portfolios
  • To undertake daily SER BAU and adhoc requests. This includes setting up corportate issuers to risk using Specific Risk methodology, investigating and correcting daily SER risk failures and producing Regulatory Control Reporting.
  • To undertake daily position reporting activities and Project work to develop /modify reports in line with new methodology / business changes.


Qualifications

BestTop Career Sharing Session 7 – Pass Psychometric Test with Flying Scores – 25 AUG 2013


The 7th BestTop Career Sharing Session was held on 25 August 2013. In this session, BestTop taught on useful skills and techniques to tackle online psychometric tests (click to view what they have said about BestTop).

Psychometric tests typically consist of numerical reasoning, verbal reasoning and logical reasoning tests. They are often used by companies in the first round of assessment procedure. It is said that 80% applicants failed at this stage. In order to help our participants well handle psychometric tests, BestTop has consolidated suggestions from past grads who have successfully passed these tough tests, and “RIECE”and “BRIDE”were devised. They are very useful techniques to assist candidates in the preparation for online tests. Real online questions were used for a better practice.
