Trainees will get several weeks of intensive classroom training then work in one of our bureaus in Asia, coached by some of our best journalists. Responsibilities
Trainees who excel during the nine-month program will earn the opportunity to move into staff positions in one of our 200 newsrooms around the world, subject to business needs and language skills, with the help of a mentor to guide their early careers.
Qualifications
We’re looking for:· Early-career journalists, financial professionals or final year students/recent graduates of journalism, economics, business or languages.· A passion for journalism, with evidence of editorial work experience.· Fluency in more than one language is a distinct advantage. Mandarin, Korean, Japanese are particularly welcome.· A proven interest in financial news and a grasp of economic trends· Proficiency with data/numbers· A strong academic record at the bachelor’s or master’s degree level
