Equity Research
The Equity Research team provides detailed analysis and value-added insight on companies within the marketplace. They specialize in a specific sector, like telecommunications and retail, or a specific country such as China, Thailand or India. Researchers develop relationships with companies and their senior managers in order to understand and evaluate their structure, financial profile and business strategy. Analysts market to institutional investors in all global markets, pitching new themes and ideas and work with the institutional sales force to develop long-standing relationships with the firms' investor clients.

Senior analysts divide their time conducting primary research of industry trends, company performance, etc., giving impendent analysis of Investment Banking transactions and marketing their ideas to investor clients and J.P. Morgan salespeople

Responsibilities
As a Summer Analyst in the Research Division, you may be placed into two rotations within the markets product group (in Sales, Trading & Research) during the course of internship, allowing you to understand the flow of business, maximize your developmental experience and network with professionals from different lines of business. Depending on the location of your internship and product group, you could have an opportunity to participate in a rotational program.

You will gain hands-on experience in the financial markets and learn from outstanding colleagues. Practical exposure to the markets will give you a disciplined approach to producing reports that assess the investment merits of first-time and existing issuers, Analyzing alternative investment products, providing ongoing assessments of fundamental trends in an industry or product, and identifying investment opportunities in the secondary markets.

The goal of the summer internship is to provide a rewarding career experience for those who have an interest in pursuing a full-time career in Sales, Trading & Research with J.P. Morgan. Our Summer Analysts and Associates become primary candidates for our full-time program.

Qualifications
  • BA OR advanced degree candidates who posses the following:
  • 3.4 out of 4.0 GPA equivalent or above
  • Strong accounting, finance, quantitative and business writing skills
  • Adaptability and ability to work well under pressure in a demanding environment
  • Able to work independently to produce accurate, detailed materials while meeting tight deadlines
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and Word software
  • Fluency in English is essential
  • Fluency of an Asian language is preferred (Mandarin, Korean, Bahasa and Thai)
