Responsibilities
The OCBC PGMAP is a structured training programme that spans 18 months. This programme is open to applicants who meet the necessary entry criteria who wish to switch careers to banking, or who are already in the finance industry looking to fast track their careers with OCBC.
The programme is designed to equip you to assume an Associate Vice President role. Focused towards individuals looking to accelerate their mid-career aspirations in banking, high achieving individuals will be able to transfer their skills into a career in banking and be fast-tracked in their career.
Successful applicants will embark on a comprehensive program to not only develop their banking and commercial competencies, but will also have access to comprehensive networks and a senior banking mentor.
OCBC bank has developed the programme to provide significant development opportunities to help support the increasingly diverse needs across different countries and geographies. Based on your background and interests, applicants are invited to select and apply for two divisions of interest from the following:

The OCBC Management Associate Programme
- Is a structured programme that lasts 18 months.
- In the first 8 weeks, you will learn about the OCBC Group, purpose and values.
- Content will cover: banking, compliance knowledge and soft skills training through a wide array of exciting learning channels.
- Includes multiple networking sessions to broaden perspectives and understanding, supported by mentors and senior bankers.
- On-the-job learning starts immediately when you are placed in a real role under the supervision of your manager.
- The hands-on experience is complemented by specific rotations to related job units to better understand the different functions.
- Expect learning to be steep and you will need to be highly self-driven, proactive, resourceful and resilient.
- Your leadership skills will also be honed when you undergo a carefully designed PGMA Leadership offsite programme that takes you through a journey of self-discovery and peer-to-peer learning.
- Each successful applicant will be assigned a mentor who is also a senior manager in OCBC to leverage on their valuable knowledge, experience and perspectives to help develop and complete the program successfully.
Qualifications
- An MBA or Masters degree with a strong basic degree in any discipline
- A minimum of 1 year of work experience
- A maximum of 6 years of work experience
- You must apply for up to two specific PGMAP Divisions that are hiring for 2014
- Qualities which include leadership potential, excellent numerical and communication skills with a strong learning aptitude and resilience to succeed in a dynamic environment.
- Prior work experience in Engineering, Manufacturing and Fast-food industry will be an advantage
