Responsibilities
As a Post Trade Derivatives (PTD) - Graduate Training Program (GTP) Entry Level Trainee, you will provide support for PTD products. The GTP Entry Level Trainee is responsible for independent and advanced customer support. Day to day tasks involve investigation and resolving client issues, new installations, upgrades and any project specific to assigned customers. The wide variety of responsibilities will also require frequent interaction with the Sales, Product Management, Development, Business Analyst, Quality Assurance, Documentation and Professional Services teams. The GTP Entry Level Trainee will assist global clients in using PTD products for their business needs. This role is highly customer focused and involves managing and dealing with large global and local financial institutions, researching and presenting business solutions, issue resolution, the logging and tracking of issues and raising the client’s awareness of PTD products.
- Provide timely, independent production and implementation support on PTD's products
- Answering client calls, responding to client e-mails, and logging new client issues
- Communicate with the client base by means of e-mail, phones, and Client Service Bulletins / Client Information Bulletins
- Ensure that the client is educated on relevant PTD products
- Manage client open issues log and work with client to prioritize issues
- Write Management Overviews and Functional Specifications for issues that require programming changes
- Attend scheduled status meetings
- Participate on team projects and presentations
- Write project and implementation plans
- Distribute programs to clients via Client Service Bulletins / Client Information Bulletins
- Work with Product Management, Business Analysts, Developers, and QA via the SDLC process
- Provide training and coaching on PTD products to clients
- Be able to successfully use all available internal tools for issue investigation
- Work with upper management to achieve system / corporate goals
- Perform additional responsibilities as delegated by SunGard management staff.
Qualifications
- Recent Bachelor Graduate or Postgraduate (awarded by June 2013)
- Basic understanding of the exchange traded derivatives and cleared OTC industry is helpful, but not required
- Desire to learn industry knowledge of international capital markets specifically post trade, typically:
- Understanding of various asset classes and properties – Futures and options, FX, Equities, Fixed income
- Understanding of contracts such as futures, stock lending / borrowing, repos and reverse repos
- Strong knowledge of trade life cycle including middle and back office processes
- PC literacy
- Quick learner and self-motivator
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Able to work independently and within a team
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Professional manner in dealing with clients, even under pressure
- Highly organized with the ability to manage a heavy workload in a dynamic environment
- Strong client management skills
