Responsibilities
(1) Corporate and Commercial Banking
This division supports multi-national companies (MNCs) and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with an extensive range of financial services, including commercial loans and trade finance products. This programme will give you the opportunities to drive strategic projects and develop total banking relationships with a great variety of MNCs and SMEs customers. Attachments to the core functions, including:
(a) Relationship Management
Together with the Account Relationship Managers, you will help to provide efficient and customised financial services to our MNCs and SMEs customers. The experience will provide an excellent ground for development into relationship management roles.
(b) Trade Financing
This function helps corporate customers manage their trade needs and provide their businesses with opportunities for development. You will gain a comprehensive understanding of the bilateral, structured trade and forfeiting etc.
(c) Risk Management
The experience will provide an excellent opportunity to understand the corporate credit risk, market risk, operation risk etc and will provide an excellent development into Analyst and Risk management roles.
(2) Retail Banking
This division supports a wide range of personal financial needs, including credit cards, wealth planning, mortgages, deposits and transactional services. You will learn the full spectrum of the Retail Banking business knowledge and explore career opportunities in branch operations and other areas of Personal Banking.
Attachments to the core functions, including:
(a) Customer Management
This function provides you in exploring new business opportunities and strengthens our customer relationships by identifying customer needs and providing appropriate financial solutions. After gaining a good understanding of our customers, you will have the opportunity to develop your capabilities in branch network management, product development and channel innovation.
(b) Sales and Marketing
This function will allow you to take a strategic view towards marketing and sales planning and branch network management through involvement in Bank-wide sales projects.
(3) Operations & Processing
This division supports banking operations and transaction processing. In face of keen competition in the market and the rising expectations of our customers, our operations team’s competitive edge is moving beyond a service role to becoming a proactive service partner to our business teams. You will learn all about the procedures, systems and processes that underpin the successful running of a thriving bank. Attachments to our core functions, including:
(a) Banking Operation
This function will provide you with a comprehensive understanding of the retail banking transaction procedures and processes. You will gain hands-on experience in processing Demand Drafts, Foreign Exchange deals and Remittances etc.
(b) Credit Administration
In this area, you will be trained in the credit services we provide to our corporate and retail customers. You will gain hands-on experience in handling the full credit processing spectrum, from applications to draw-down for various loan products such as mortgages, overdrafts, trade loans and corporate loans etc. You will also learn the factors that contribute to an efficient, prudent and successful loan administration.
(c) Treasury Settlements Operations
Treasury Settlements Operations support the bank’s treasury activities. Through active participation in these crucial processes, you will learn settlements of various products and systems.
(d) Trade Service
This division supports trade financing. You will be trained in margin trade settlements, operation and process.
For all the positions, short attachments to Business and Branch Banking may arrange accordingly so as to equip you with an overall picture of the Bank’s operations and understand the requirements related in establishing customer relationship within the Bank.
During your attachment, classroom and e-learning would be arranged from time to time. Your learning progress and performance will be evaluated periodically and the results will be used to determine your job fit.
Qualifications
Fresh university graduate with major in Business Management, Banking and Finance, Engineering or Accounting related disciplines, who is analytical, meticulous, independent and possess good interpersonal and customer service skills, as well as effectively bilingual in English and Chinese so as to communicate with Chinese-speaking customers.
