Responsibilities
Nomura recruits a number of undergraduate students in their penultimate year for our 10-week Summer Analyst Program in the Global Markets Division. The Program offers an exciting opportunity for accomplished and highly motivated individuals to gain exposure to the financial services industry. It is also a great chance to get a feel for our culture, create new networks and gain valuable on-the-job training.
  • With assistance, perform market and relative value analyses 
  • Provide sales support including enhancing existing sales coverage platforms and accounts management 
  • Summarize overnight market movements and present in morning meetings to Traders/Sales 
  • Develop Product specific investment ideas and pitch internally 
  • Run a model portfolio of investment ideas over the duration of the internship 
  • Be prepared to work on ad hoc projects and team specific projects such as Franchise Enhancement and database maintenance 
  • Proactively learn and familiarize self with sales, regulatory, and financial concepts 
  • Be committed, hardworking, and driven to learn and contribute to the team

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent with a Strong academic record
  • Minimum grades: Distinction, 2:1, GPA 3.5 or equivalent 
  • Enthusiastic, Self-starter, proactive and curious about financial markets
  • Able to perform effectively in a team environment
  • Able to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment 
  • High personal and professional standards 
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly adapt to new situations
