Employer Description
Costello Medical was founded in 2008, the company has enjoyed rapid growth driven by the demand for our expertise from clients in Europe and North America. Our excellent reputation has enabled us to expand our client base to the Asia-Pacific region and, in order to support the growth in demand, we are currently recruiting for Scientific Interns to join our Singapore Team.
Responsibilities
This position is ideal for current students or recent graduates in the sciences, with Chinese and English language skills, seeking an exciting opportunity to be part of a new venture and to gain an insight into life at a fast-growing consultancy serving pharmaceutical industry clients. You will have the opportunity to experience what the Analyst role entails, assisting Analysts, Senior Analysts and Consultants with projects involving the assimilation, interpretation and creative presentation of data from clinical trials. Interns will receive one-to-one training on the technical aspects of the role and learn about project management and effective communication with clients.
The internship will run for 3 months and you will be based in our Singapore office. Experience suggests that in 3 months, an intern can get settled in and undertake one or two meaningful projects. Successful interns have in the past had the opportunity to pursue a permanent position within the company.
Qualifications
Applicants should have, or be studying towards, a degree level or higher qualification in a scientific discipline (minimum 2.1 or expected 2.1). In addition to excellent analytical skills, some experience in planning and writing scientific documents would be helpful, as would fluency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. An ability to communicate scientific material clearly in both written and oral form would be valuable; organisation, self-motivation, and very close attention to detail are essential. As this internship is focused on supporting the development of the Asia-Pacific office, written and spoken fluency in Chinese and English is a crucial requirement. Although no previous experience in this sector is necessary, you must display a genuine interest in healthcare and an eagerness to learn about new areas of science.
