Responsibilities
- Accountable for delivering positive financial results from the use of the company's capital
- Market analysis, including but not limited to scanning for trading opportunities, deciding how much capital to allocate to specific trades, developing optimal trade execution strategies, and managing the risks of trades.
- Operating in a fast-paced dynamic commodity market environment, where there are often time constraints and time sensitive deadlines
- Develop knowledge of hedging, trading and risk management techniques
- Develop understanding of options theory, including valuation techniques of standard and exotic options ideas
- Understanding of risk measurement techniques such as VaR
Qualifications
- 2013/2014 graduate, high academic achievement, with tertiary qualifications in a Financial Engineering/Mathematics or related subjects
- Extremely numerate with strong mathematical skills
- Sound modelling and analytical capabilities and have a good derivatives understanding
- Ability to analyse market fundamentals and macro themes
- Work experience gained from working in the industry i.e. summer internship
- Adept at problem solving and ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment
- First class organisational and time management skills
- A confident team player with a proven ability to build relationships at all levels
- Excellent communication skills comfortable with phone and one to one interaction
- Experience in the use of Microsoft Excel / PowerPoint & Word
- Pro-active and creative individual coupled with a demonstrated entrepreneurial nature and a commercial focus
