Employer Description
GIC is one of the largest investment management organizations in the world, with over 1000 people working together to create long term value.
It was incorporated in 1981 under the Singapore Companies Act and is wholly owned by the Government of Singapore. Its aim is to achieve good long-term returns for the Government - a reasonable risk-adjusted rate above global inflation over a 20-year investment horizon.
GIC is one of the key architects of the Santiago Principles, a set of Generally Accepted Principles and Practices for Sovereign Wealth Funds. The Principles were published in 2008 by the International Working Group of Sovereign Wealth Funds (IWG), made up of 23 member countries including Singapore. GIC adheres to and practises the spirit of the Principles.
