Responsibilities
A Management Trainee - Southeast Asia will be part of an 18-month program defined by 3 phases, each with a duration of 6 months.

The 1st phase will allow Trainee to explore all departments in the hotel both front line operations and back of house. In the 2nd phase, the Trainee will progress to four (4) specialized operational departments namely 'Front Office', 'Kitchen', 'Housekeeping', 'Food & Beverage' - for focused training. The 3rd and final phase focuses on Supervisory Functional Duties and Responsibilities, and Leadership and People Management. There will be cross-exposure opportunities for the Trainee as he/she will be required to work in a different hotel for the last six months. 

Upon graduation, the Management Trainee can expect an actual placement of an entry-level manager (or equivalent) in host hotel.

TRAINING PROGRAM. This intensive 10-week Program commences in December and begins with several days of classroom training. Creating statistical exhibits that analyse comparative financial performance.

Qualifications
You must be a university student in your penultimate year of study or first-year Masters student with outstanding academic credentials; preference given to financial/business-related studies. Students must graduate between December 2015 and July 2016.

You have oral and written fluency in English. Business fluency in Mandarin or Korean is required for the Program in Hong Kong. Business fluency in Mandarin, Korean, Hindi or another Asian language is preferred for the Program in Singapore.

There is a critical lack of information as to the diet and nutrition of children in Singapore. While there are substantial changes in the food supply and eating habits, an increase in technologies that facilitate sedentary behaviour (e.g. video games and mobile phones) and changing family life and structure (e.g. increased participation of both primary and secondary care-givers in the workforce), there has been, to date, no concerted national effort to understand the situation or trends.
As the leader in pediatric nutrition in Singapore, Abbott would like to understand the current food and nutrient intake of children between the ages of 3 – 6 years. The data will inform product formulation as well as education of parents with regard to child nutrition.

The interested intern will work with the Medical Affairs team to design and implement the study, analyze the data and provide a report of the findings. The project will require the candidate to plan and manage the project to completion.
  • Review papers / technical documents related to the topic.
  • Plan and design the study with the guidance of the Medical Affairs Team.
  • Prepare the study tools and implement the study in the finalized sample.
  • Collate the data and prepare the final report 

Qualifications
Background in science and mathematics, preferably exposure to statistics (and, SPS).
Currently pursuing a degree in food science, nutrition
Keen interest in research and investigative skills.
Good grasp of English and excellent skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
