SIAC, an independent, not-for-profit organisation, was established in 1991 to meet the demands of the international business community for a neutral, efficient and reliable dispute resolution institution in a fast-developing Asia.
SIAC Board of Directors consists of well-respected lawyers and corporate leaders from China, India, Korea, UK and Singapore. The Board is responsible for overseeing SIAC’s operations, business strategy and development, as well as corporate governance matters.
The SIAC Court of Arbitration comprises 16 eminent arbitration practitioners from around the world, including Australia, Belgium, China, France, India, Japan, Korea, Singapore, UK and the USA. The main functions of the Court include the appointment of arbitrators, the determination of jurisdictional challenges and challenges to arbitrators, as well as overall supervision of case administration at the Centre.
Responsibilities
The internship programme at SIAC aims to give an opportunity to gain first-hand practical experience in the role and functions performed by an international arbitral institution. The internship will complement studies in the area of international arbitration and will expose successful candidates to a career in law and dispute resolution. Interns will also have the opportunity to experience life in Singapore, a major commercial centre and arbitration venue.
Qualifications
Postgraduate Student interested in international business and law.
