Responsibilities
As a trainee you will work alongside experienced trading teams supporting them with daily trade activities. Through on the job experience you will learn how to build relations with growers at the ‘point of origin’ and our key industry customers. Hands-on experience will develop the skills necessary to negotiate contracts, agree prices as well as develop you understanding of the key aspects of physical trading and learn how to monitor supply and demand developments, movements and regional sugar market trends and provide analysis.
In addition you will learn about the physical supply chain and how to control costs by evaluating freights, bookings and establish efficient and reliable routes of shipment. This hands-on experience will give you an understanding to how to ensure timely execution of contracts and delivery of shipments to customers.
Qualifications
A minimum of a 2:1 (or equivalent) Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Mathematics, Economics, Business Management or Finance preferred.
Fluent written and spoken English (to business standard) with at least one other international language such as French, Spanish, Portuguese, Mandarin or Arabic
