GIC is one of the largest investment management organizations in the world, it was incorporated in 1981 under the Singapore Companies Act and is wholly owned by the Government of Singapore. Its aim is to achieve good long-term returns for the Government - a reasonable risk-adjusted rate above global inflation over a 20-year investment horizon.
GIC is one of the key architects of the Santiago Principles, a set of Generally Accepted Principles and Practices for Sovereign Wealth Funds. The Principles were published in 2008 by the International Working Group of Sovereign Wealth Funds (IWG), made up of 23 member countries including Singapore. GIC adheres to and practises the spirit of the Principles.
Responsibilities
The GIC Professionals Programme offers graduate opportunities to talented individuals who are looking to make their future as professionals in the Investment Management industry. Taking place in Singapore over eight months every year, from August to March, you will:
Learn investing principles in a 5 to 6-week bootcamp
Develop organizational perspective and learn from seniors during 9-10 weeks’ rotations to three different functions across GIC
Meet prospective mentors and senior GIC professionals through structured events
Qualifications
Have at least a bachelor degree. Learn quickly, and though a financial background isn’t essential, you’ll need to display a strong interest in financial markets, excellent academic performance and high professional drive.
