Program Overview
As a Summer Associate at the Private Bank, you will have the opportunity to be part of one of our integrated business teams working closely with experience professionals to execute on specific responsibilities. During the 10-week internship program, Summer Associates participate in training classes, senior speaker series, market discussions and networking opportunities — all of which are geared toward providing extensive exposure to the multiple aspects of the firm.
Summer Associates work with a dedicated program management group who provides guidance and feedback throughout the summer. The internship program is an ideal way to meet the people who drive success for the Private Bank, and it also provides an opportunity to experience our unique culture and to learn about our full-time opportunities.
Banker Associates are integral to the success and growth of the Private Bank. Each Banker Associate will participate in the Banker Apprenticeship Program, which develops professionals interested in leading a wealth management business. The Banker acts as the face of J.P. Morgan’s Private Bank business to our clients and lead new client acquisition, relationship development and retention efforts using a broad toolkit of investments, banking, trust and financial planning capabilities and services. They oversee the client experience and engage their teams and resources to deliver complete wealth management solutions. As a Banker Associate, you will partner with a Senior Banker to manage and expand a roster of clients.

As a Summer Associate in our Global Wealth Management, you will have the opportunity to work as a fundamental member of an integrated business team. You will have significant responsibility and work closely with experienced senior professionals throughout the firm. During the ten-week internship program, Summer Associates participate in training classes, senior speaker series, market discussions and networking opportunities; all of which are geared toward providing extensive exposure to the multiple aspects of the firm. Summer Associates work with a dedicated program management group who provide guidance and feedback throughout the summer. The internship program is an ideal way to meet the people who make our Global Wealth Management business a success, and it also provides an opportunity to experience our unique culture and to learn about our full-time opportunities. We hire most of our full-time Associates from our Summer Associate class.
Qualifications
We seek first-year MBA candidates who are highly motivated, with a deep passion and interest in the financial markets. Candidates must be assertive and demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication and analytical skills. Other essential qualities include the ability to work on teams and build relationships, work well with clients and colleagues in an intense environment, and demonstrate strong quantitative and technical skills. Fluency in English with one other Asian language (Mandarin, Cantonese, Bahasa Malaysia, Bahasa Indonesia, Hindi) is essential in addition to cultural knowledge.
